Default OTC vin code

I just picked up a used otc 2000 to do my own diagnostics. I have read over the manuals, checked the unit for basic function, and plan on cleaning off the snow tonight and playing with the new toy tomorrow. My manual goes thru 90, and my vette is a 92 lt1, so I am not sure of the code I need to put in for that engine when the system asks for the vin code. Does anybody know what it should be? The lt1 is a vin P according to the GM manuals, but I don't know if that corresponds to the otc code. Thanks for your help!

The OTC's that I have all ask for year, make, model, then vin code. Which yours would be P. I think the other option would be J??? I don't remeber but it would be for the Zr1

I'm not sure. The 90 otc manual also show a single digit letter or number for the vin code, and if you follow the progression they use it would seem that a 1992 vin code would correspond to a "N", but I hate to guess because if the vin code used is wrong, then the error code readings will be all screwed up. And it doesn't look like there is any support from otc on any of the old stuff.

no, they are looking for the engine code in the vin.. A LT1 is P
