Anyone using them? How do they sound (and how many disks are you using)? Any problems getting the car inspected (since there is an end-cap on the muffler)?
Some race shops have them...Pegasus, etc. I think Summit might even carry them.
I've seen them on C4s but not heard them. However I've heard them on various other cars and they all seem to "buzz" quite a bit. Not a ricer-like buzz, though...
I got a supertrapp catalog a while back. If I remember right you can order right from them. I really want to try a set, to be different! I know they are tunable by adding or removing disks from the tail end.
From: Los Angeles, CA.... I know a guy who has a Lambo with Corvette doors
Re: Supertrapp mufflers (xcheck44)
I designed a system that used them on my old Fiero. They are pretty cool & very adjustable(but kind of a pain to do so). The question of smog check came up & I asked the guy at the test only station what the deal was. He said I could take the end cap off(along with all the diffusers) for the testing. That's what we did, & the car tested ok(& loud). Depending on the model, they do make end caps that have an open hole in the middle also. I forget how many disks I was running,I think they come with about 12 to start with,& I ended up removing a couple of them to quiet it down a little & get rid of some resonance.
I decided to go with the Hooker Tuned Flows on my Vette. They are way easier to adjust, but don't have as big of range of adjustablilty (no special work needed for doing a smog test either )
I have a Quicktime audio sample, but it's of my Hookers, so I didn't bother posting that.
