Default Key stuck in column

Well this week is kicking my vette's butt. The tranny is on it way out and I just ordered a clutch and parts for a 4L60E to ZF6 conversion to do next week.

I drove it today to bring a friend to work and I went to shut the car off and the key was stuck in the on position. I hit the starter on accident and it finally came unstuck.

I cranked it again and it was stuck but even weirder, the AC and radio would not come . All my guages worked except for mpg, it kept changing from 0 to 5y5 the whole time. Also, none of the buttons for the guages (guage/eng met/trip od/trip fuel) worked. I got back home and tried to take the key out but no good. I had to kill the car a different way and the key is suck in the ignition.

Any ideas???

Same thing happened to my c3, dicked around for 30min. with it, finally
used a pliers to shut it off. Pull the steering wheel and replace the ignition lock and key.

Yeah..i know i'm going to have to replace the key. Is that the only problem you think i have??? I'm more worried about the ectrical part. Is this the right part and since i'm swapping in a manual...would part number D1453C on this webpage fit in my A4 column???

Once in a while my key gets stuck in the ignition. I just jiggle the shifter and the key would come out.

Try getting some Dry Graphite Lubricant in there. Your tumblers are probably stuck. That stuff works wonders. My 89 had a sticky set of tumblers where I couldn't the key out, I shot that stuff in and no more problems.

That's what i'll do thanks for the help...I hope all of this is related and the switch is just making a bad contact. I'm really worried about why the AC/radio/guages won't work.
