Are all 1996 ECMs the same?
Does anyone know whether an ECM from a '96 IMPALA SS is the same one used in my '96 CE? The Serv # on both are 16214399. All the other numbers are different. I know what is programed into them will be different but is that the only difference? I'm looking for a spare ECM to play around with.

I picked up a used OB-II PCM from a salvage yard here in DFW for $75.00. It was from a 96 Camaro, LT-1.
I took it to my friendly neighborhood Chevrolet store, where we removed the modified OB-II PCM from my LT-4, pluged in the one from the yard, and the tech pluged his scan tool into the the diagnostic port and downloaded a stock LT-4 program to it. Cost...$60.00. Took about 30 to 45 minutes.
