Need input on new engine combo.
For now it will be N/A, but maybe supercharge it in the future.
So I am thinking if I get the engine built with :
Seal Power Hypereutectic Flat Top Pistons
Cam is hydraulic duel patterned high performance Cam
Double roller timing chain
Roller Rockers ,Molly Push Rods
Steel Forged Rods
Nodular Crank.
I have not decided on heads, but whatever I get will need the internal EGR passages, so probably another set of Dart Iron Eagle 200cc's.
I'd love to go Fully Forged, but that'll raise the cost by $1.3K or so..
Possibly even forged rods (if going boostt...then yes), those scat 900os are tough little mothers but how much boost willl determine that.
Remember, it might be 1.3k to go forged now. But next summer when you want to throw on the SC. It will be 1.3k + what you payed for the non-forged stuff already plus all the work to pull it all out, balance it, re-hone...etc...etc... basically if you are running boost. Just go forged.
As for the cam. Another thing, if you want boost. Why not go with a boost cam. As for the dual pattern. What heads are you using. I would figure out your top end and then get a cam that matches it. If you have good heads, you will want a single pattern.
Just my thoughts...

Good point as far as choosing compression ratio goes, building it twice would suck.
