Default I think it needs the front lowered

Engine, exhaust and X-brace is in. So I finally lowered it down on all 4 since October (without having to jack it up again). But I rolled it around and let it sit overnight and here are the pictures I took.

rear

front

If people say that it will settle more just driving around,I may have to raise the rear. As of now, I can get a finger and a half in the rear and almost 4 in the front. I guess I added another project.. lowering the front suspension, removing all suspension components and polishing.

I doubt it will settle enough to please you. Like maybe a 1/4 inch, if that much. The front is up pretty high. The rear looks perfect. But, you sure have a nice looking car! I think that color is the best of all (same as mine). What the heck, you weren't doing anything else anyway, were you?

That rear looks great. I have yet to do mine. I will try the rear first and see if it helps settle the front down a little more from what I've heard has happened for other people.

Drop the front! It is much quicker pulling the front apart the second time; I know from experience!

I believe, that the suspension was engineered for the front to be lower than the rear. Not sure how much, but it is in the Helms Manual>

Altering the front/rear aspect can affect high speed handling..also wheel alignmnet, etc.

Everytime I jack my front end up in the air and let it back down the front is always sitting higher (like yours) than the back until I get it out and drive for awhile. It just needs to settle back down.

Default Facts

Convertibles were designed to ride approximately 1-1-1/2" higher due to the addition of the cross body brace. The suspension is also softer due to the convertibles loss of body stiffness vs. the hardtop. Softer springs also mean more suspension travel.

Regarding your car, you definitely have a front to rear mismatch in ride height. Front is WAY too high re the rear. You definitely have to drop the front and RAISE the rear. You want at least 3" to 4" ground clearence between the frame cross brace and the ground with a slight rake in the ride height, rear approx 1/2" higher. If you don't allow enough clearence for cross brace you'll find yourself high centered on the first speed bump you encounter.
