84 dash cluster problem
My dash cluster is working intermittently. It usually takes a minute or two to light up and then sometimes shuts down and resets while driving. This has been going on for months. Yesterday, I started getting abnormal voltage readings. It was reading over 18 volts yesterday and today it is 9.5 volts and holding steady. Anyone out there experience this before? If the cluster is the problem, I would like to know how to repair it myself. I know there are services available, but I like a good challenge and bet the fix isn’t too complicated. Or could it be that the alternator is causing some problems?
