Anyone out there have experience with the 2piece rear mainseal adapters? I'm finishing up my 383 stroker and have a monster of an oil leak. From what I can see it doesn't look like the seal is leaking,, I used RTV to seal the adapter to block but it appears not to have held. Any suggestions???
Yes and the experience I have had with the was all bad. Quite a few were mis-machined and did not center the seal on the crank correctly forcing me to enlarge the holes a little so I could move the seal adapter around and center it. Now it is quite possible you did not seal it well enough to the block, but its imposssible to know without actually seeing it.

Not being centered would cause it to leak at the seal.

thanks for the opinion rkless, but when I installed, i checked it for cocentricity and had less than .002 runout. It also appears that the oil is dripping around the housing rather than from the crank journal. Problem is that when it's on the lift with the dust sheild off, you can't pinpoint the leak due to the windage from the flywheel.
