Default Smoothing out manifold?

What tool would be best for smoothing out the little bumps and burr's on a SDPC TPI intake manifold inside the air passage ways?

Summit sells a little porting kit that has all different bits in a wide array of shapes and sizes. I think its like 12 dollars, good buy.

Wait till you try a Plasma Cutter, oh baby. We also used to have a giant Band Saw, we used it to cut the front off of a 3rd gen Trans Am to pull the motor one time. It took about 10-12 seconds, it was awesome! I love tools of destruction!

I am doing clean up on a manifold now. I got for about $4 a drum sanding wheel for my drill and the sand paper rolls. It's working very well. I am using an extension for the drill to get farther into the manifold. That's the only thing that sucks. Putting the drum bit into the extension results in slop. I have been wrapping some teflon tape around the bit so it doesn't fall out. It needs to get replaced about as often as the sand paper though so it's not so bad. Use 80 grit to take down all the casting flash, seam lines, etc. Then polish it up with a finer grit. It was easy to do the manifold and runners, the plenum really needs hogging out though! For that I got a carbide burr and am going to use my neighbors shop with a huge air compressor. A drill will not spin the burr fast enough FYI.

Sawsall-my wife heres that around my place-well you get the idea anyway, I've done alot of porting in the past-the best
advice I can give you is Dremmel-BUT, don't go cheapo on it, get
a good one. Obviously aluminum is alot easier than the old cast I
used to do-but still get a good one, and some carbide cutting tools
for it.

w/Lambert, buying a quality tool costs more up front but makes the job much easier, especially on a TPI base. When using an extension, it really wears on the bearings. I use a Mutabo electric that is adjustable from just under 1000 pms to around 10.Dont have access to a proper compressor to use my other die grinder... Carbide bits its on the lowest setting, cartridge rolls and flap wheels around 2000. On thirdgen.org there is plenty of home porting going on, a few guys who are doing some nice work and freely share tips. Hard to come by good info, the guys that know how to do it are usually secretive about it.

IMO a drill wont get you the result you need.
