YOu can't ever guarantee a tire will always be there. Just fine smoething new you like. I always had BFG Comp T/As on mine, and then had a set of Nittos for a while on the back that were a blast to drive with.
Currently I have a set of Kuhmo's on there. They are pretty grippy for the first 5-8K miles or so, then the soft layer wears off and has a much harder layer underneath that lasts a LONG time.
I think the better question would be to ask ...what kind of driving do you do? Racing, daily driving to say only work and back each day, pleasure driving like only on the weekends, etc... that would make a big difference in what you get.
Don't bother wondering if the tire will be there in a few years when you need new ones again, just pick what is best for you NOW.

I have 4 Goodyear GSCs that are in pretty excellent shape on (4) 17x9.5 rims which I might be willing to sell if you prefer GSCs. I have BBS rims on the car now with Firehawks. The GSCs are on my original factory rims and I'm not interested in selling the rims, only the tires. The tires were new on the car when I bought it 7 years ago and have been stored in my semi-heated garage here in CA since I put the Firehawks on the BBS rims 5 years ago. I can get the tread depth measured and send digital pics if you are interested.

The Goodyear F1 GS-D3s are an excellent tire that give great performance and good life for a very reasonable price. I've not heard of anyone that had them who didn't love them. I'd stay away from anything that BF Goodrich or Michelin makes. Not because they don't make some good tires but because they're both French owned and we all know what kind of back-stabbing SOB 'friends' they've been to the USA as of late. Just my political opinion but that's my feeling on the subject.
I have had GoodYear GS-D3's on my Vert for 2 years!
Great tire, given its award winning performance in both the US and Europe, I'm sure it will be around for a while....

I didn't know that Too bad I just bought 4 new BFG's for my Tiburon. Wish I knew that before hand and I would have looked at other options.
