Default Corvetteforum C4 technical section

So I'm gone for 2 weeks and the CorvetteForum finally gets caught up in the dotcom probem? This software is slow, it is ugly, and I find the threads harder to read. Did I say slow?

I'm sure this was gone over, but I missed it. Please don't tell me to read off topic as this in on topic. Also please don't move this there, simply delete it.

Not from where I stand. I think this pretty much bites. Also why does it continue to try and hit my PC? I haven't figured out what it is doing yet, but it is constantly trying to access something, but my firewall is stopping what ever it is.

I pretty much thing this new software bites. Looks ugly, hits my firewall, loads slow, what was the purpose? Don't get me wrong, I support the former forum, but this looks like a mistake. What did I miss?

Just logged on 20 minutes ago for first time in two weeks.

I guess there must be a personal problem. I think this software is major weak. Former hacks of UBB were better. Don't see the upside, unless there is no CorvetteForum unless this poor version.

I find this hard to use, less usefull then the former version. And I find it slow. The threads are hard to follow for me, and poorly delineated; sigs run into text and alignment is combersome. I guess I'm feeble, but have a hard time following this format.

Pete

And by the way, how do I keep this POS from posting my sig over and over? OK, figured it out I think.

This has changed from the CorvetteForum to the K-Mart forum for me. Cheap piece of junk looks and feel. What a shame. Why the change? Cost? Ads? Forget ads, you will loose at least guys like me (no biggie, right?). Or perhaps it's just plain quantity of hits? Why does this sight keep hitting my firewall?

This bites, justs unless I was not clear. I amagine that I get some "demerits" for this? No? Stupid.

Just read Troy's topic at the top of the page. The links don't work. I don't think this software works.

Hello? Everybody likes this, it's just a senior moment I am having? Any Moderators here anymore?

The new software seems faster for me at work, but slower at home on my dialup. I liked the look of the old software better, but I really like being able to subscribe to a thread that I'm interested in.

You gotta be kidding me...... this software is blazing fast compared to UBB on both broadband and dialup. Not only that, but it is super functional. We're still in the transition phase, so sure there are going to be little bumps here and there.

At a crawl. Bangs against my firewall a few times per second and hangs on any page load. I'm on a cable modem, but using Netscape, old version for security reasons and not willing to change. NO problem on any other sights.

Still contend, the look is weak. Who the hell cares about "functions" when you can't read the threads? At least I can't, not as well as the old UBB. Don't mean to be a stick in the mud, not at all. I'll shut up now, but this format in hales.

What version of Netscape, and what "security reasons" are you considering. Could be your problem right there.

What Scorp said. I think you are having a personal problem.

Works way quicker for me. You can change the fonts to loose the Kmart feel.

Check it out, It's worth it.

Pete, I was having a small problem this weekend, seems that somehow I got logged out and the url changed again.

But as far as the "new" forum, I think it's great, loads 5 times faster than the old UBB, much more options for the user and not really hard to get used to.

Hopefully whatever (computer) problem you are having will work itself out
and you can enjoy this new software.

It doesn't work with my Netscape 4.6 nor 4.7.4 Mac versions. The pages hang all the time. Same with IE 4.5. Mac.

Why not use Netscape 6.x? It is so full of bugs and very slow - I don't find it usable.

I tried IE 5.1 and the forum works very well and fast. No problems there.
Too bad I hate IE...

Maybe the forum software is designed to use IE specific java or html? :(

Pete the forum....just does not want to work very well with Netscape and never has..just sometimes in a bluuuu moon. ....there was a Notice about this problem, i think it has to do with Java. I just got tired of it :mad since i was a true Netscape user myself...and switched to IE.....and has worked fine ever since.....
