I normally hang out in the C3 sections, but right now I have a C4-specific question.
Can you tell if a set of the LT4 rocker arms are the defective parts from the date code stamped on top? I'm looking at a set that came from a low-mileage wreck, but I don't want to waste my money on time bombs...
i dont know about any date codes but i can tell you they are lt4 specific.they are on a metric stud(mine were)and wont fit any other head.i had to change studs to run a set of comps when mine failed.
I read that before I posted - problem is that the part numbers aren't stamped on the rocker, as far as I know. If they are, I'd love to know where to look.

Thanks for any info you can provide!
If the date stamp/part numbers don't help you out (and I don't know the answer to that), you could see if the VIN number from the donor car/engine was in the range subject to the recall. If it is, then maybe it is worth passing on these parts.
Looks like crane cams were the problem .I would call Crane and see if you send them the old ones ,they might replace them for free
Don't tell them they came off a wrecked car.
