Default Good Place to get decent headers...

I want to get some headers for my 86 L98, and was wondering what headers, and where would be a good place to look so that I don't have to spend an arm and a leg. Thanks.

There is a set of hooker 2151's for sale in the parts section. He has them listed for the LT1, but they are for the L98. I was going to buy them but i realized the powder coating was done in black.

Any set of headers will be at least one arm and a half a leg

Default good headers

Morning all. I just installed TPI's with the ceramic coating on my 94 and i recommend them. I also put on hi flow Random cats and mounted the
front 02 sensor on the sides so they are easier to reach. A side benefit of the ceramic is that the under hood heat has been greatly reduced. I recommend that you install a crosspipe of the same diameter as your exhaust pipes.Seat of pants power is increased and it will tone down the bark of hi flow mufflers. Best of Luck!!

Unfortunately, headers are pricey. Fit, flow and heat retention are the paramount issues, not price, IMO. I paid the price for TPIS ceramic and am very happy with them. They fit/perform exactly as advertised. How much are arms and legs going for these days?

Curious, do you have an iron or aluminum head '86? I'm going to have a rather unique set of headers for sale in a few weeks that are particularly well suited to the very early C4s. They are something that you're not likely to find anywhere else and they're brand new and of very good quality. They won't be cheap but they won't be ridiculous either.

Based on those requirements I would seriously consider the ceramic coated hedmans from summitt. Fit and finish are good, installation is easy and they last. If you are not racing I think that you would be happy with them, unless ofcourse you care what the big guys think of that selection.

If you want them cheap, get them used or get Hedman's. Otherwise get TPiS from their site or get Hookers from Summit.

I wouldnt buy anything uncoated with the intention of putting it on the car, you need to send them off to JetHot before doing so.

You might want to read my website also.
