Default Help with weatherstripping

Hi.
I have an 85. I have bought weatherstrips for the doors and the side of the acrylic roof.
Does anybody have any advice for how to take the strips off and install them.
I see that the ones fopr the doors have a lot of "plastic spikes" obviously to enter holes to keep the weatherstrips correctly in place.

How to take off the old ones. I see that it might be a problem to get these spikes out.

For the "spikes" you will need a trim tool that you can get from an auto parts store that deals in body repair. It basically has a fork like end on it to go around the fastener and then pop it out. As for the glued on stuff you can slowly work it off and then pull off the backing that sticks to it. If you need any specifics just drop me an email and I can get you a pic of the tool or give you some other advice. Hope this helps.

You should get a can of that 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive Remover and a tube of the 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive from NAPA or other auto parts stores, too.

Makes the job a lot easier, especially removing the old stuff.

Dare I ask what the temperature is there currently?
