I am needing to find a new ECM for my car... It appears mines is faulty. i keep getting different awnsers, and need to know which one is right.... Does it matter if the old ECM came off of an auto or a manual transmission car? The service numbers on my ECM is: 16198260
I don't know if it matters for sure, but I think it does. O'rielly auto parts has these remanufactured for ~$75. If you don't have one in your area you can order from them online. Take your old one and there is a number on it, match it with the number on the Orielly computer, because they show like 3 of them when you input your make/model/year, all with different numbers for different applications.

thanks in advance!
The ECM itself is the same. The chip is a different part number though. I spoke with an ECM service / remanufacturing house once ... They told me that well over half of the returned "bad" ECMs were actually just bad chips or calpaks.
