Default winter storage issue

I'm bringing the car home next week so I trip over, check the tires blah blah. Batterys got tons of juice, im surprised.
I have an external oil warmer so I get down to attach it to the oil pan and lo and behold, theres oil that has dripped onto the floor. Not a puddle but quite a little bit.
Are these cars known for sweating oil in the cold contractions of winter. Its a 92. I just bought it and don't know much about it yet. The mill has 30K on it.

Pat.

Check other fluids allso. My 92 was doing the same thing when I bought it. I found one of the power steering line clams loose, which caused slight leak. Fluid was all over oil pan and frame crossmember. retightened line and all is good since then.

Check under the TB around the top of the opti and the rear around the egr valve. If you see oil there it is the intake very common on our cars and can take a while for it to drip down. The front and rear RTV leaks eventually. Also around the oil filter.Get it up and poke around clean as much as you can and watch it for a while. And get your FSM for your year from www.helminc.com if you have not done it yet.

Ya, I heard about the intake gasket part. I'll have to check that. I'm hoping its a little less serious. There was a small pump whine before I put it away just on statup. Hopefully its a drying ps pump. Can't see it being anything much else. Hard to see right now with the car on the floor

The "whine" could have been your A.I.R blower.

Actually the best and permanent fix to winter storage problems is to just come on down south, we drive 'em year round. Now on the serious side you said it leaked while in storage if I heard correctly. So it is probably nothing serious. So if it leaked some fluid is below normal level, what is low? engine oil, p/s fluid, ??. Your profile is not filled in so I can not tell how long it has been stored, nor at what temperatures.
The longer and colder the more likely it is simple 'cold weather' seep from seals contracting, will usually reseal with some use. Look for all the things redeasysport mentioned before you start driving it again, then once more after you have driven it for week or so. Good Luck and Enjoy the Ride!

Get under the car and see where the oil leak is coming from. My 87 started dripping oil recently and the O ring on the oil filter adapter had to be replaced. Also, NEVER store a car battery for long periods (4+ wks) without charging it periodically. Car batteries self discharge up to 1% each day and collect lead sulphate on their plates as they discharge. A fully sulphated battery is a door stop. Buy a battery tender and connect it to your battery during storage, you do not have to disconnect your battery cables either.

Thanks guys its somewhat encouraging. I'm not a stranger to storing cars. Its been down since December 10th. It has been really cold lately but thats no big deal in Canada.
I've just never had a stored car leak oil before on me. But then again, my GMC Jimmy spots oil every winter and than stops in the summer. Its the O rings in the oil cooler lines. Damn, GM builds incredible cheap crap sometimes.

Well the cars home and fluid levels are good and doesn't appear to be leaking anything anymore. The car runs great and it only appears to be a new antenna needed. Oh ya, I can't wait to install the skip shift and bypass that annoying headlight sensor. Everything works great and the air con blows cold. This is a box stock 92 coupe.
About the whine ( no wife jokes please) it is not the PS pump. Its a kind of intermittent supercharger type whine that appears to be coming from the alternator. Any ideas. Belt too tight? Voltage reads good.

Back to power steering again. Does wine get louder when you turn the wheel?

It's gonna' leak again. Trust us. They leak. My power steering system is leaking now and my car's been stored for the winter, too. I'll try tightening the PS hose clamps. I had mine leak-free two summer's ago and I had PS fluid on the front crossmember and frame. I replaced the rack-to-resovoir pipe, too, as it was leaking.

no it doesn't. Its strange. I can't really pinpoint it yet but it appears to be the alternator or perhaps the air pump. I'm going to try the hose attached to my ear thing as soon as it warms up here. Dam its still winter.
Car hasn't leaked anything since I got it home last week and I've run it a few times also. I checked the PS fluid and it looks good and topped unless it was overfilled before the guy stored it.
