Want to repeat that last part? If you have to jump it to start it and then it later wants to quit it well could be low voltage. Strongly suggest you get electrical system check done on battery and alternator.

sounds like it might have a alternator charging problem.

Dropping the large red wire off the alternator output and sparking it to ground blew out its fusible link and your alternator cannot charge the battery. You can't crank your engine because you have a low battery and when you remove the jumper cables, the battery voltage is so low the engine quits. First, charge up your battery with a 120 vac battery charger for a full 24 hours, replace the blown fusible link located near the battery. Here's how. FIRST, remove the negative cable from the battery. Then you can remove the nut on the jump start terminal behind the battery and find the large red wire that goes to the alternator and replace its fusible link and then reinstall the wire and nut. Replace the neg battery cable.
You should have noticed that the red battery symbol light was lit on the dash which tells you that the alternator was not charging the battery and you should also have noticed below 12.0 volts on the dash voltmeter.

Exactly right always remove the Neg terminal before doing anything with wiring. The Factory service manual says this again and again.
