I just got my 91 back from paint, a guy bumped the back of me and spidered the paint a little, cost him $687 to repaint my bumper (since they had to take it off to do it). Do you guys know about how much it would cost to have an entire car repainted black. salesman told me $2k, but after this bumper, that seems a little low. i just want factory quality, im not looking for any $20000 job here.
oh, and a fun fact:
my c4 = 15 years old, all original parts excl. shocks and injectors. my ford f250 super duty = 5 years old, SECOND transmission rebuild in 5 years...conclusion, ford sold me a lemon. anyone happen to know how to put a gm trans into a ford?
Ask what you get for $2,000. Then get some other estimates. For $2,000
they probably will not remove the badges, trim, door handles, or side mirrors. If you can remove these things yourself you could make that $2000 paint job look like you paid double that or more.

thanks for the advice, anybody know a good paint to use on the door handles? i have tried 2 or 3 types to match up, including the heat resistant, and it still chips off way too easily. i figured i could do that much myself, but it doesn't seem to be working.
In my area, $300 per panel is about average. Hood counts as 2 panels because it is so big. I use eastwoods semi gloss, underhood black for the door handles. Once every year or 2, I mask them, scuff them and mist on a fresh coat. Takes more time to mask them off than anything.
