Default Can you lower a C4 too much???

I lowered my 93 Anniversary edition while installing a set of 90 Z-51 springs. The front springs did not have LCA spring pads so I glued 1/4" thick delrin pads on the end of the springs to provide compliance between the spring and LCA. This is not the problem. At the same time I removed the upper spring pads and installed the lowering wedges, standard procedure. When I reassembled the springs I left out the factory 1/4" spacers above the wedges. Surprisingly I didn't have to cut the mounting brackets to bolt everything up tight again. Once assembled everything was fine except for the ride height, it was low, less than 26" to the top of the fender lip, 25-7/8" to be exact. My problem is twofold, the fender well clearence and the shocks. After lowering, the shocks, new Bilstein Z-51's are compressed to a height of approximately 11" at rest. Near as I can tell the factory shocks bottom at 10.5" of compression. Thats cutting it way too close for comfort. I've been driving the car on the street and the fender clearence is adequate for street driving with the 275's tires I have on. I'm concerned that when I go on track I might get tire rub under braking or go full jounce on the shocks, an instant understeer into the wall scenario. How low have other people gone with their C4's and if you got as low as mine, how did you address the shock and tire clearence problem?

Alot of people will say that the car will still settle after time. I don't know if I can help but perhaps installing the 1/4" plate that you didn't put in should bring the car back up a little.
