Default Fuel Pump Fuse Location

Sorry for such a simple question, but I did a quick search and didn't find what I needed..

Where is the fuel pump fuse located on an '87. It's a L98 automatic car.

Thanks

your car shouldnt be to different than my 86. Its located on the side of the passenger side dash. Open the passenger door and take the fuse panel cover off. I believe the fuse is on the bottom row to the right. It says FP on it. good luck.

Ok just to double check with you, the book lists two different fuses labeled for the fuel pump...the 10 amp fuse located where you stated and a 5 amp fuse labled "Crank" which is listed as Fuel Pump, Oil Pressure Sender (Located as part of I/P Harness).

Am I correct in assuming that the 10 amp in the main panel is the power to the pump? Thanks.

Oh, and it's the one in the bottom, right corner of panel. I mentioned mine says "FR" because the manuals show "FP". Not really sure what your 87 will show

Just the 10 amp fuse in the fuse box, but the FP relay eventually runs through a .5 fusible link.

If I were you, i'd just check all the fuses and make sure they're good. Fuses are cheap and easy to replace and its always the first place I look when something goes wrong. Hope this helps.

I was looking for the fuel pump fuse for my 87 the other day as well.
I thought my owners manual said it was behind the dash or something. It says there are two fuse panels. The main one by the passenger door and a second smaller one with the alarm and fuel pump somewhere else.
In my car the bottom right corner of the panel has an empty space.
I gave up and went on to something else.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for the replies all. I’m not really sure what my problem was, but after replacing the fuses (which tested ok by the way) and cleaning some contacts, I’ve got power to the pump. Thanks again.

On my 90 there is a second 4 fuse block and yes one is the secondary fuel pump. I had to get to mine because the door lock fuse was blown. On the 90 you have to remove the passenger side hush/kick panel above passenger foot area and reach way up in there behind the glove box to get at it. I guess on an 87 it would be up in there behind that face pad that says "corvette" somewhere.

On the digital dash if one area is blank then it would be a dash issue.

I was wondering if you ever got an answer to this because I have the same exact problem. I have a new fuel pump and rail, I bought a new relay, I put a new ground from the antenna to the frame, I rebuilt my dash and it still says that I have no fuel or I'm on reserve it goes back and forth.
