Default So, is there anything im missing???

Well guys ill tell ya what i have now after my engine is now rebuilt from my 85 auto. I have a comp cam, ported heads, 24# SVO's, AFPR, Long Tube Headers, true dual exhaust no cats and muff elims, 2400 stall, lower thermostat, and soon to get computer work done. So is there anything i could benifit alot from now like a new fuel pump, larger throttle body, new gears, anything??? I guess what im asking, where should my next course of action be. Can anyone guestimate my ET's and HP as well?
Thanks

The stock tpi is a big restriction overall.

Sound like you have a solid basis for a good performing car. If your looking, and it sounds like you are for a good solid end goal for your car that you can work towards in the future it would be to look up and talk with Corvette0096 forum member. His setup runs mid11s all day long, and it not much more than what you have already.

In your current configuration I would worry at all about the TB, and as long as your pump holds pressure at WOT, you will be perfectly fine with what you have. gears, unless they are 2.XX I would not worry about them either.

As far as ET/MPH, I would say you should easily see 12.7@105MPH if everything is sound. And depending on how well you can stage (shallow) and how well you can drive the car you could see as low as 12.5sec.

Shift with that intake no higher than 4700rpms. Which will require you to manually shift the car. If you let it shift on its own, it will be WAY too far past the power before it shifts on its own. I would watch the stock dash and shift when you think its at 4200 and by the time you react and the tranny shifts it will be around 4700.

For future items to look for to boost your performance - hands down a super ram intake manifold and base should be high on your list.

Good luck and let us know what you get!

I don't do 1/4 mile racing, but I think there is merit in a few things...
-free up the air filter,
-shift-kit, or sharp adjustment on TV cable,
-3.07 gears, at the least..
I have lately driven two 89's..one with 2.73 and the other with 3.07's...there is a BIG difference in the way these cars perform, esp. from take-off..
IMO the 3.07 is a good all-round ratio...at 65mph 2000rpm I don't consider to be too high, and it offers spirited launches.
Sounds like you are putting together a sweet all-rounder...

hey thanks alot guys, i beleive i have like 2.59's or somthing like that on my all stock rear end... Defiently next winter that will be my project. Now ive considered the super ram, but maybe in the futre i might put the vette one the bottle, and from what i hear, the super ram is not good with n2o. How would a super ram effect my rpm range?

Ported bigmouth base, ported plenum, heads.

What cam grind did you use? I'm considering the Comp XE262-H14

That doesn't sound like a 12 second car to me, but if it is, then I'll be writing some checks soon.

Yep, if it were me I would be looking at intake options that compliment the cam/heads.
Someone above stated to adjust the TV cable, I am guessing he meant to firm up the shifts.
IT is NOT advisable to do this, if you want an A4 to shift tighter etc. parts need to be changed.

hers my cam specs

duration @ .050 Intake=212 Exhaust=212
Lobe Lift .2960
lobe seperation 112.0

I fully understand about the TV cable. The price has came down on the super ram, and that i like. If I dont go with nitrous, i will defiently slap that on. Ill keep ya updated when i get HP and 1/4 Mile times.

That seems like a very tame cam. How does the new setup feel and run

With that cam Id just put a good flowing TPI on, 3.07 gear. I dont see where a SR will make a huge difference with a 212 @ .050 cam besides revving a bit higher.

Maybe down the road get a little bigger cam, Miniram and some more gear. What you have should be fun to play around with as a driver.

well i havnt got the engine back in yet. I thought the cam was tame too but the machinist was concerned about loosing vaccum. I want somthing with more umph while being street-able. So if im going to change the cam, now is the time. How big can i go?

I'm going with this one http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
No problems with vacuum and streetable from what iv'e read. I can't comment on it much as i've just started the build. Haven't read anything but good about it and was the cam that comp recommended for my 355 rebuild (for my driving style)

Sounds like you are off to a good start.. Just keep throwing money at them and they will go. I would go with a 2800-3000 stall though.
