I started my car for the first time in a year and a half today. It idled high and white smoke can from the tailpipes smelling very rich. I haven't had time to get the timing just right yet. So, I decided to check my codes: code 23- IAT sensor, code 33- MAF sensor, code 42- EST circuit, code 43- Knock sensor circuit. Dam 4 codes. I am going to get the timing right first then check each code one at a time. Looks like I've got my work cut out. Any suggestions?
First thing to fix is the Code 33, once you fix that code, the rest will likely disappear. I will bet that at least 2 will definitely do so. Since its early in the intake tract, once it goes , the rest get thrown off.
First replace both MAF relays on the firewall behind the battery. If the code 33 returns, then and only then do you replace the MAF sensor itself. You want GM parts for this, do NOT waste money on 'performance' or 'adjustable' junk from the catalogs. Afterwards, see which codes return and post them.
