I can't tell you what will happen if you don't upgrade your chip but I am sure you will get the max benefit from your cam if you have your chip customized to match your cam. I would PM member ski_dwn_it with your specifics. He will be more than happy to help. If you decide to have your chip customized he will take your chip and perform a custom burn. He really knows his stuff, just do a search and you will see. I'm sending him my chip next week. He will do everything the aftermarket chips will do plus match specifics to your engine for hundreds less than some chips on the market.
I've been here a long time and from what I've seen and read he is the person to talk to about custom prom related issues.

I have had a couple of different chips in mine and I can tell you by far, the one that works best has been from www.pcmforless.com I pass emissions with it, and look at my et times in my signature. Oh, and to add frosting to the cake he has the best price.
