transmission problems....any help appreciated
My 92 A4 with 109k miles is not shifting properly and I feel some slippage as well. It started two days ago, it will only shift into second gear when it's above 2500 rpm and I let off the gas, then it will go into third just fine but won't engage fourth gear. Also, if I give it more than half throttle at any point it wants to redline. I should mention that I installed a B&M shift kit in it about six months ago but it ran fine until two days ago. Any ideas? I'm guessing I'll need a rebuild, but is there anything I can check first?

Other than fluid level or a blocked filter, the only 2 things you can chech are governor and tv adjustment. The throttle valve adjustment is critical for long life. Unhook it from the throttle body with the engine off. pull it in and out to see if it works smoothly. The governor may be sticky, but I doubt it.
