o.k. corvette gurus i have a mighty perplexing problem. i have just finished a performance rebuild heads cam pistons and a chip from pcmforless. and now it runs pretty good except when you go into reverse or drive the idle bogs way down and sometimes stalls. then the ses light comes on and i get a code for iat sensor? that does not make sence i have checked for vaccum leaks, iat wiring, min idle speed, tps adjustment, timing, and just about every other thing i can think of. it is an 86 auto with dartpro 180cc runners 64cc chambers, crane 262 zcam,10.5 to 1 comp.and a granetelli maf. and chip from pcmforless.
...the ses light comes on and i get a code for iat sensor? that does not make sence...
That "does not make sence"? What does your factory service manual say causes the code you received? If you follow the trouble shooting chart(s) for that code, you are likely to find the cause.
You may want to get a scanner on it. If the scanner shows a temperature way below zero you likely have a short or faulty sensor. The car will run richer than it should with the IAT malfunctioning so I would try to fix it asap before you foul a set of plugs.
