I have a 92 lt1 zf transmission. I have removed the driveshaft to replaced the u joints. When I shake the driveshaft back and forth there is something shaking in the driveshaft. When I shake it the insides hit the knukle area. The last time I had the shaft off I cannot remember it doing this. Is the shaft broken?
That is exactly what it is, something is loose in the inside of the driveshaft and is hitting the two knuckles when I shake it. Has anyone had this happen to theirs?
I took the driveshaft to a driveshaft shop today and it turns out that the cardboard insulator inside has come loose and is making the noise. Does this sound logical?
