Started OK this morning. At lunch time went out and it would not start. Indicator light and guages work and I could hear the fuel pump, but would not turn over. Kind of like when the clutch pedal is not pushed in all the way to the floor. Tried another key, same problem. Rocked the car in gear to bump the starter, still nothing. Battery is good. Went out 10 minutes later tried it again, started right up.
I have never had any problems starting this car previously other than a weak battery. Any ideas as to what may have caused it to not start?
Sounds like the VATS pellet on your first key was dirty, giving it a different resistance. If the wrong resistance is recorded at the key, the security system will shut down everything for 6 minutes, this is why the second key did not work at first.
Clean off the pellets on both keys and let us know if the problem goes away.

My first thought was the key might be bad so I tried my spare, I did not realize it shut the system down for 6 minutes. Thanks for the info.
