header torque
I've got a ticking noise coming from the pass. side and mechanic thinks its the headers. What torque specs are you guys using? I'm assuming you can't go with normal manifold specs and they should be tighter, right?

I don't recall the exact amount but on my 86' (with aluminum heads), it was quite low, like 22-25ft/lbs. I did use the standard exhaust manifold torque spec. I retorqued quite a few times after the install and have not had a problem since.

If I remember right, you have EMs, right? That means you've got stout flanges of course. I don't really torque them, it's more trouble than it's worth due to the array of tools usually needed on the different bolts. Within reason, the tighter the better. My DRMs have 3/8" flanges too. And with the copper Mr. Gaskets, although I've checked them a few times, they've never really needed retightening.
