Default Fuel Pump Installation

Anyone have a good resource for a fuel pump swap? I bought the pump used with a blower kit, and there aren't any instructions for the pump installation.

It's one of the more simple things to do. I replaced the one in my 86 a few weeks ago. I can take you step by step but try to do a search for fuel pump first.

It's actually pretty straight foward. Remove the torx screws holding the gas lid on and remove the lid. Remove the rubber mat around the gas cap (it's probably going to tear). Blow away the dirt and debris, undo the fuel hoses, then remove the bolts. The whole thing lifts up and out from the top. If you go slow you might have a chance of saving the sealing gasket from tearing. Depending on who the pump is from, the wiring might be diffent. Just take a look at how your old one goes when you remove it. Might as well change the sock while you are in there.

Thanks guys....I finally found a thread showing that very same procedure.. It looks like the easiest part of what I'm doing.

1st, blow the dust and debri away from the tank top.
Little late after you take everything loose. If you don't have an air compressor, get one of those dust blowers that you clean your keyboard with, does the trick.
