Was wondering, what ways have you guys and gals managed to increase your 60ft times? What has worked for you, what are your suspension setup's and what kind of 60ft times are you seeing with your engine setup's? Thanks in advance.
I have a hard time hooking up the drag radials. Stock rear suspension with a 26mm stabilizer bar, drag radials, full tank of fuel, spare and jack installed and a 100 pound tool bag in the rear compartment help get it hooked up. Best 60 on a drag radial was 1.505. Average 60' is 1.620.
Warm the street tires up a bit, 28 lbs or so. Footbrake it to 900-1000 (anymore it pushes through the lights), nail it on the last amber. This is on cheapie Falkens fwiw.
I'll agree to agree we are both right, increase as far as to improve apound(as in quicker) and to decrease(as in time) it's all in the wording I guess.
Damn, I do what cuisinartvette does, but I set the tire pressure on my cheap skinny 255/50/16 Falkens at 24 psi. Semi consistent 2.0s and a 1.9 on a good day.
Stock rear suspension, stock front suspension, front swaybar removed, 15 x 3.5 wheels up front, no spare tire or carrier, full tank of gas, race weight of 3480, 1500 rpm launch on a 2800 stall converter with 3.45 gears nets a best of 1.67, average of 1.71
I found that "pushing" the pedal to the floor rather than just nailing it yeilded 1.8 60ft times with sumo's street radials, 30lb air, half tank fuel,
spare and jack, 86 auto 383

Have had better results ,1.84s on same tyre @32psi.
Only a little spin to dry them off (can't drive around water at track), big burnout seems to glaze them up and they spin off the line.Others have had similar results running them hard.Go figure
