Just finished cleaning the IAC and I am about to start the resetting of the IAC. Vader86's website goes through a long procedure, which I believe includes the TPS reset as well, but the factory manual says:
Depress accelerator pedal slightly
Start and run engine for five seconds
Turn ignition "off" for ten seconds
Restart engine and check for proper idle operation.
Don't believe EVERYTHING you read on here. If your FSM (not a Haynes or Chilton's) gave you the instructions you cited above, go with them. I haven't looked, but I believe that Vader86's instructions are the same as yours, with added procedures, like setting the minimum air and the TPS. When in doubt, unless someone gives you a real good reason not to, don't second guess the FSM. No, it isn't flawless, but without a credible reason not to, you are better off sticking with it. Vader86's combination of operations are well suited to, and complement one another.
