FX3 is an adjustable ride option. There are three settings, soft, med and hard. On the dial I think it's tour, sport and performance. The dial is located between the seats, in the center of the console.
It can be a very expensive system to fix, anywhere from $100 to $4000!!! If you are looking at a vette with FX3, make sure the system works right and does not have any problems. Perhaps some people who actually have this option on thier car can help
I have the ride control and it affects a couple things that I know of but I'm sure there is more that it affects as well. I know it affects the acceleration and the handling of the car. For example, Tour will have more play in the accelerator than Perf because it suits highway travel better. I haven't really felt how the handling is affected because there aren't too many exciting roads out by me but I have felt it a little bit.
I got it because it allows you to have a smoother ride for cruising and a stiff more perfomance oriented ride when you looking to do the twisties. The down side is the cost to fix it.
