Default Need Instructions for 96 auto console top removal

I need to tighten up the gear shift indicator assembly screws but I don't know how to remove the console to gain access to it. I don't see any visible screws other then the one below the ashtray, any help you can give would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance,
Allen

I did it so long ago...my memory may be a little bad but...

You open the console cover, take out 2 screws, lift out the rubber for the cup holders (or ashtray if you are a smoker), and remove the screws there and that's it!

Of course if you want to take it right out, you need to pop out the button at the top of the shifter and remove the retaining ring in the shift button to slide the leather off too...

There are two hiddin screws under the rug in the console. Lift up the rug at the front edge where the cassettes go. Hope this helps.
