i bet somebody responds now. i got beat by a 03 cobra i helped modify and he is talking trash about chevy. i consider all vehicles made by the uaw part of my family. die hard gm guys please dont take any shots because im a peon assembler. i just gat an lt4, bone stock,70000 miles, and as good as i am tith mustangs im that bad with lt4s.this particular vette is a pain on exhaust products. please give me info on em and sw longtube collecters.are they 3 inch or 2 and a half. how long are they? can i temporarily connect to the resonater so i can later decide on an x pipe. the ? is do i waste 1000 dollars on a cat back if i plan on using x pipe with universal bends
LT4 exhaust alone won't get you where you want to be. Look at cam, lifters, etc. The 330hp LT4 is pretty well tuned from the factory, intake and exhaust changes won't make a really big difference. Well one intake change would, put some nos in it, maybe a gear change and tune. Welcome to our world!!
Gears alone are worth a solid .30 in the 1/4 mile. I ran consistent 13.3x and with a gear swap to 4.10s went consistent 13.0x at the same mph. You'll love 4.10s. I wouldnt mess with a 3.73, JMO.
Without at least a cam and headers its tough to track down those SC cobras. A set of4.10 gears, EM longtubes, an X pipe, catback, cam swap (lots of opinions here but I went with the hotcam for easy matching up of parts) and a tune should put you around mid 12s pretty easily.
I did all the work myself and have:
gears $200
Hotcam swap $400
homemade catback exhaust $30
PCMFORLESS.com tune $200
Pre pcm tune I went 12.91 at 110mph with a 2.09 60 foot time

Good luck...... I'm not saying its not possible, but my buddies 03 SVT is putting down over 500 to the ground and consistant mid/high 11s .... Those cars really respond well to the mods....
More cubes, a good cam, hog out the heads, long tubes, a good tune and some DR's will put you there
