I have an autometer pillar pod.

The gauges are the intellitronix or however it is spelled.
I have a fuel pressure gauge, and a air fuel ratio gauge which I got just to fill the hole till I get some real gauges.

Actually, when I get the car done, I am taking the pillar pod out. It attracks too much trouble.

No trouble at all either installing, performance or attention from other drivers or the popo.

I airbrushed the guage bezels black to be less obvious. They are autometer guages (the FP guage is very high quality and comes with a remote electronic sender). I got them from Greg Carroll at www.carrollsupercharging.com

I have the same dual gauge setup. The gauges are autometer cobalts, fuel pressure and boost.

everyone wants to race me. I get sick of imports trying to prove something. Long story short, some of those guys are senseless drivers.

And now cali has some new policy if they see the gauges they have cause to pop the hood and look around. It leads them to believe you have mods. I am sure it is just to take out the import street racers, but I dont want any of that.

there was a video on the internet, it was a police training video running through the different sensarios of doign a bust here in CA. if you dont pop the hood, you get arrested. they impound the car. You pop the hood, they start naming things that are illegal. on the import POS they used as a demo, it had a few mods like cam gears, cold air intake. PCV beather and a MSD and intake manifold. They pointed out all those are illegal.

the video has been taken down for whatever reasons.

A co worker of mine has a EVO, he also had 3 gauges on a A pillar. he got pulled over and the cop was giving him all kinds of crap. funny thing was, those gauges were his only mod since the evo comes stock without some necessary gauges. 2 of them were not even hooked up yet. he managed to talk his way out of any problems. Next day at work he removed them.

Bottom line, My car looks stock, passes smog depending if I happen to be running the stock exhuast or headers that day. I dont want to get nailed and have twin turbos sitting over the valve covers when finished.

I have been thinking of some other plans for building some gauges. I am going to try and set up a heads up display for the C4. I mainly want tach and MPH with a boost gauges. I have a defi speedo, and a HUD display from a bonneville. I installed my HUD in my Z06 and it seems like it might be something I can so in a C4 if the area under the dash is open. I also picked up a new dash pad on ebay to cut up.

I am thinking about tring to get some other digital gauges to fit in a rebuilt DIC, so nothing is visible to anyone. They would have to be digital like the AEM, and I would just relocate the LEDs. if that does not work, I also plan to put in a laptop, with a display where the double din fits (Mainly to control the FAST fuel managment). Some guy in the C5 FI section has a laptop that tells him info like boost and EGT etc... ity mostly shows the engine functions. I dont know if it would work with a FAST system, but it seems to work well with the C5 computer.

In the pics I posted, I updated the 90's dash pieces to a 92-94. that has a traction control button. I removed the traction control button and put the LED's to my MSD knock counter in that position which you can see in the pic. the big MSD knock box is mounted in my console, so I know I can move some LED's around.

hmm, it was about 7 years ago. I think summit racing or jegs.

When I got my apillar guages there was no option for a 3 gauge pillar pod for C4s. I am pretty sure that this is still the case.

I have seen people get a 1 gauge pod and the 2 guage and put them together, but I haven't seen one that looks good enough for me to try.

Thanks,
Scott

Default Autometer pillar

Not the best pictures but what I could snap in a hurry. I bought the electronic sender versions so I could integrate them with the XFI. Also picked up one of MSD's LED shift lights since the LCD dash on my year vette is slow and hard to see quickly.

Default Ease of install?

How easy is the install for the air/fuel and the fuel pressure install? Where do you recommend running the wires and what wire is used for the power source? Thanks......Chris

installing these are easy. if electric fuel presure gauge even easier.run wires down a pillar and down dash. then find a grommet and put them through it. make sure not to cut wire or it will ground out and not work.i used the power wire to my ignition at the steering column
