I had my 90 vette parked for the winter and this weekend decided to wake her up and get her ready, I had the battery on a trickle charge so it cranked and started up but soon sputtered and died. After several attempts to restart her failed I checked to see if I was getting gas to the fuel rails and it was bone dried. by the way I have a full tank of fuel, verified all the fuses to be good, and no codes. I'm not that good yet with the troubleshooting charts so If someone could steer me in the right direction It would be much appreciated
one more thing I don't get the srs light when I turn the key to on
You're either not getting power to fuel pump or it's not running at all if the fuel rails are dry. You should hear it go "whrrrrrr" right when you turn the key forward.
Once you get the battery charged up again, turn the key on and see if you hear the pump turn on, if you don't check to relay (makes sure its getting a good connection) This happen with me just a few weeks ago.
It sat all winter and then started. The fuel system must all be functional. It sounds like it ran out of gas. I would start at the filter and check to see if there is fuel there. Then work your way foreword or backward, based on the results. Did you have any fuel stabilizer in the gasoline? How full was the tank?

RACE ON!!!
I thought about the filter and bad gas and whatnot but if the pump is not working it can still run for a second on the fuel in the lines and rails by way of vacuum I guess. Or at least mine did. It started twice for a second with a bad pump. Then never again until I replaced the pump.
Thanks for the inputs guy's. I swapped the pump relay with a known working one and still no gas being pumped. Im definitly not getting 12v to the pump. Tonight I plan to troubleshoot some more. By the way does anyone know if the ECM sends the 12v to enable the pump?
Try applying 12 volts to terminal "G" on the ALDL connector. Pump should run continuous, if not, while the power is still at terminal "G", check the FP fuse to see if it's getting the power.
I just had a similar problem with my 86. These guys pointed me in the right direction. Try this, take the gas lid and rubber gas neck off so that you can see the tank. Run the hot wire to terminal "G" and use a light tester and check the tan (on my 86) to see it lights up. If it lights up then the FP is bad, if it doesn't light up then check the fuse to see if it lights up. On the relay harness I think the wire is green with black or white stripe and see if it lights up for 2 seconds while you turn the key on. I didn't have the FSM at this time and the Forum helped. The troubleshooting diagrams are hard to understand at first but study it a little and you will get it. My car sat up for 5 years and it had a bad relay and pump. Do a search in this forum for "86 fuel prob"

I finally got to work on my fuel problem and it turns out to be a bad fuel pump, It worked fine when I parked the car last October, but whatever I have the pump on order so I'll have to wait till next weekend to find out if I'm right.
not sure what kind of diagnoses you've applied...but try the old C4 guru's method and bang on the filler a few times to establixh good electrical connection...this of course will not help if you've determined that the fuel pump is definitely the problem.
Well I had the pump out of the tank and applied 12v's directly to it and get nothing as far as the motor working. I'm thinking this should turn the pump on if it was good. Would you guys agree???

I did this same test with mine and nothing. Replaced it and it's all good.
