Default Can I supercharge?

I have a 95 LT1 with P/P Heads,CC306 Cam my question is can I supercharge on my stock bottom end? The bottom end has just been freshened up but I didnt know if the rods could handle it or not. And does anyone have a supercharger kit for sale?

Sure, you can supercharge, as long as you didn't raise the compression when you had the heads off. Did they shave the heads at all??

There are lots of stock supercharged LT1's around.

That cam is probably not ideal for SC.

I was afraid of that! Too much work to pull that cam... I will just have to wait until I pull for my next bottom end rebuild.

There's alot of valve overlap in that cam. You can still do it, but the ideal cam would be something smaller.

You'll be lacking some power. You will get some blowthrough but it shouldn't hurt the car at all.

My son, lcvette, just finished blower install on our 95. Check out his posts. We discussed often with Greg from BLOWERWORKS and got some great input. I believe i would not install a blower with a CC306 cam. According to Greg and everything I read you need a cam with decent lift and 112-116 lobe seperation. Look for posts by Lcvette and you will get some good ideas.

IMHO actually in his case with milled heads and stock compression. That CC306 cam would probably be an advantage. It will bleed off some boost and will help to save the engine. It will still allow peak boost to happen after 4500RPM when the overlap of the cam kicks in to make powerwhich would be fine. With his stock bottom end and about 10.4:1 figuring milled heads and if he has a .039 Felpro 1074 head gasket, it should work well.

If this was a 8.5:1 engine then I would say that 306 cam would not work well with stock heads. We are running a 234/242 with a 114 using large CNC ported heads and in a 383. With this combo we are pulling 600+ RWHP @6000 RPM in a M6 car with a T trim making 12 PSI.
