So I got to thinking. I replaced basically everyting you could put your finger on under my hood. Cap and rotor included obv - since I dropped my new L98 in. Coil was one thing I left alone, don't know why. Long story short, I thought about this, went to Pep Boys and bought an MSD blaster coil for $69. That's probably way more then I could have found online, but I had it in my hands right then and there which was more important to me.
20 minutes later, the car runs GREAT. I got back my midrange, it doesn't ping when hot under heavy load, and my MPG went up. I didn't bother testing the old coil, but I gues it was bad.
So anyway, just an idea for those with shiite mileage and craptastic power. I replaced my injectors, o2, etc - all made a diff, but not like the coil. I can get to 90 on your average on-ramp again
I love it when it works. Although I know in 2 months I'll be hunting down some other bugaboo again. Ah the joy of cars.
