I have a 92 vette, which I have had about 8 weeks now. The previous owner had an aftermarket alarm on it, which he took off, but the lock \ unlock buttons on the keyfob still worked so I was using them. It seemed every other time I unlocked the car with the fob, my car took forever to start. It would turn over then die. Needless to stay I 96'd the key fob, and everything was working fine for about 2 weeks. Then it would take me sometimes 2-6 times to start it, but never on a regular type basis. I sprayed my keys and inside of the ignition with electrical cleaner, and it did great until today. It started first try this AM, first try @ lunchtime, then after lunch I tried for 10 minutes and never did get it started, I had to bring another car back to work, and I am sure it will start up right away when I get home. Any ideas?

What is it doing? If the engine will not turn over at all it could be the resistor pellet in your key. If the VATS system does not read your pellet when you turn the key it makes you wait 10? minutes before it will let the car start. Try using a different key i fyou have one. Search around for a list of resistor values and the number that goes with each and you can get a new key.
If the engine turns over it is not the VATS or the pellet in the key.
it sounds like the old alarm system had a fuel shutoff feature that is acting up. try to trace the connections under the dash for the alarm system and find where it connects to the fuel pump relay circuit and disconnect it. In fact if you do not use the alarm any more you should remove the whole thing and its wireing. The wireing should be under the drivers side dash up aroung the steering column.
