OK, now that I am into this thing for the first time I now find I have to replace the AC programmer for my 1996 LT1 with Electronic Climate Control. Does anyone know where I can find one ? Also I find two AC Declo numbers for such animal one is 15-71773 and the other is 15-72209. Is there a difference. Reason for programmer replace is blowing out floor and defrost all the time. No codes in control.
On the '92 and '93 LT1, the vacuum check valve (under the right fuel injector cover on the engine) was notorious for cracking and causing that problem.
Just to be sure, I would check it first before doing anything else.

I didn't get any codes either just doesn't work when fan speed is set past 5 weather it's a/c or heat. I believe the vacuum check valve may be the answer just don't know how to check it. What do you do just pull one of the hoses out?

I took the right fuel injector cover off and saw the Vacuum control valve. How do I check it? It looks pretty bad.
Thanks for the check valve tip. Sure enough pulled up the right cover and laying there was a disconnected and broken Check Valve. Fixed and now all works just like it did on the day it was born.
For the L98's, the feed is from the rear of plenum - next to the Fuel Pressure Regulator Feed on the right. It comes around in front of the distributor and then around to the left side where you should find the checkvalve. One side goes through the firewall to the Programmer (with the ECM harness up to '89), the other to cruise and onto the tank.
My cruise control doesn't work either so am I reading it correctly that this is probably what is wrong since it is my A/C diverters and my cruise control?
Good place to look - do make sure that the vacuum tank - left headlight well can hold about 10 inches of vacuum. If it's leaking, cruise isn't going to work and your a/c doors might flop around; ie, ac or heat, then defrost and back again.
Thanks, I'll check it out this weekend and let you know.
Never mind. I took a quick look after I got home from work this morning and followed from the Vacuum Bottle back and found a disconnected hose. Everthing works just fine now.
Thank you so much for fixing my car over the Internet without even having to look at it.
Apostle; as a former Lincoln service mgr. I would think the repair facility that had your vette should back flag the tech and offer to refund you for at least part of the bill. It's obvious that there was little or no troubleshooting done, and poor communication on the part of the service dept. as a whole. To have wasted so much time and simply thrown parts at it should be inexcusable. Maybe you should approach the owner or GM rather than the service manager. Corvettes ..., has a better rep than this, I hope they work it out with you. Good luck and tell us how it turns out.
On my 1990, the cruise control is working well, the ac not. The climate control shows no errors in codes, but it fails in taking orders many times. Changing fan speed causes nothing but change of numbers in the display, the fans keeps it speed, in the medium to high area I think. Changing between differens ways of air distribution always works, but setting Auto mode, or Off, often doesn' work. When it doesn't work to set those modes, it is also impossible to lower the temperature setting, pushing the left, down side of that button has no effect at all.
Then, when the ignition has been switched off and on a numerous number of times, the whole unit may suddenly be back to normal. Except for the ac not working, but that could have many other reasons.
Anyone having ever had the climate control unit act like that?
I had that exact problem. I could push or move it and it would come back to life. I removed it and cleaned the plug and connector on the rear of the unit. No problem since in the last 2 years.
Use a plastic safe contact cleaner. However there are some units out there with internal bad solder connections. Those are much tougher to fix. Do the easy cleaning first, hopefully that will fix you up. A little bit of work to get the unit out but all basic, don't break any plastic. Charge on

I broke one of the fittings off of mine. When I went to buy a replacement I was told that valve is used for the A/C and Cruise Control and one other area but I have CRS so #3 is history!!
