My 86 runs about 200 +/- 4 degrees during the summer on the open road with the A/C on..... In stop and go, it will get up to 235....... I have a stock 195 degree thermostat......... The cooling fan should kick on around 228 degrees......

Is that 200 degrees acceptable..... Probably...... Some people have posted that they run cooler temps, but 200 is about average..... Before turning to a new radiator, you might want to pull it, and clean the dead zone between it and the AC condenser, this should help keep it cooler, and while it is out, you can get the radiator tested to make sure it is still good......

Just my 2 cents worth.......

Husker Vette is giving good advice. The car is O.K. at 200-205. Vette engines run hot. and do go as high as 240.
You can pull the radiator and clean the area (See the Tech Post on how to do it). The proper amount of coolant to water mixture is important and Water Wetter helps.

Mine usually runs at 193 on the highway. I've seeen 235 waiting for a train or something. As soon as it hits 235 the second fan kicks on an temps fall back quickly. :D
