Well, its stuck, cant get this thing to pull out for the life of me. Any way to fix it rather than replacing ?
If it's not the cinch button, go to to NHTSA site and check under "recalls". I believe there was one for the seat belt jam. Safety recalls are good for life of car. If not done before, dealer should fix for free. If you find it on the NHTSA site, print it and take with you. Dealers seem always to have a "memory of convenience".
The belts for my 89A4 were replaced by a dealer under the recall at
no charge to me.
I was unaware of the recall. The dealer did a search for notices on
their own initiative while the car was in for service and told me about
this one. They ordered the belts and we set up another appointment
once the belts came in.
Work took place in '03, IIRC. The fresh belts made a nice improvement
to the look of the interior.
