Remove the side "gill vent" panel, and it comes out pretty easily.
There are a few (three, if I recall correctly) screws that attach the leading edge of the panel to the inner fenderwell panel. There's another screw that comes down from above to anchor the upper-rear corner of the panel. And there is one that comes up from below to anchor the lower-rear corner of the panel. Remove all of these except for the one at the lower-rear, which only needs to be loosened a few turns (you'll need to drop the front end of the rocker panel to get at this one).
Disconnect negative first, and reconnect negative last.
