Default Nothings ever easy eh!

So its Saturday afternoon and I'm going to teach a performance driving school next week so I figure I better remove the spare tire for the track on this newly acquired LT1.
Tire comes out no problem. No jack in there. Then I get the brilliant idea to check for the original build sheet to go along with the original owners manual I have. Krike! There it is with a little edge showing at the side of the tank.
Tried for an hour. No frickin way thats coming out without dropping the tank. Too much glue I guess. Then I put the spare tire carrier up and its a bitch with no tire load in it. The rod doesn't want to stay in its socket up top and keeps turning. Another hour later I get it tightened up. Fine. Now the carriers loose at the back end at the hinges. No load. Sheesh, whats next.
Ended up lock wiring it down. Now its good. Moral of the story. next time, leave the damn carrier off.
Still, I'm working on one of the prettiest cars an auto maker ever made. Yee hawwwwwww

The jack is behind the drivers seat and the build sheet is held on by the gas tank mounting strap. You need to undue the torx head screw to loosen the strap on the tank to pull out the build sheet

Thought I had seen it there when cleaning. Manual says its in a bag with the spare. Go figure eh. Problem solved. Out it comes.
I'll try the tank strap thing another day. Thanks.

What is this build sheet you are speaking of? Did every corvette come with one attached to the gas tank?
