My Canadian bacon LT1 headlights are going to get the treatment. Procedure says:
"To disable the lights, carefully pull the light sensor located directly above the speedometer out of the dash to expose the 2 wires running in to it. Place a 100 ohm resistor in parallel with the sensor. Tape it up and stick the sensor back in the dash. You will now have complete control of when your headlights turn on and off."
for the electronically disabled can someone explain more about the parallel part. Do you lay it beside the sensor and tape it or do you plumb it into the existing two wires on either end of the sensor?
I can get one from gadgetman I suppose but if this ones this easy I'll hit up radio shack. Any special resistor ( one with leads attached?).
Place a 100 ohm resistor in parallel with the sensor.
I don't know anything about what you're doing, but parallel is parallel. Connect one lead of the resister to one terminal of the sensor and the other lead of the resister to the other terminal of the sensor. Ergo, the current flows through both the resister and the sensor, on parallel paths.

I wouldn't be doing any plumbing or taping, here. Solder it.
Well I performed the headlight disable today and it worked like a charm....except for one thing. When I did it we didn't disconnect the battery. I just washed the car and went to put it in the garage. When I opened the door the alarm went off and it wasn't armed. I disabled it of course by putting the key in the ignition.
I put it in the garage and checked it again by opening the door again. No problem. Did it go off because I screwed with the electrics and the computer didn't like it? Should I be ok now? It seems fine. Now I can tirn my lights off and on when I want to.
