I have my mufflers off right now, Its just all rear Y pipe. Anyways is this dangerous? Like fumes coming back into the car? Or the heat of the exhaust melting something?????
I've been driving like that since I bought the car a few months ago. except my rear Y is damaged. It's just 2 very short straight pipes right now, the part where they curve to form the arms of the Y have deteriorated and returned to the earth :D
Is it DANGEROUS? Not really. I wouldn't do it for a prolonged amount of time though cause that's some nasty exhaust gasses spilling out under your car. That and it creates the most deafening resonating drone you've ever heard .
I drove mine around without any exhaust past the cats.... MAN... was that LOUD!!!  It seriously HURT my ears to drive that thing around  I drove down the street by a big intersection where there are quite a few stores, and everyone just stopped, stood up and stared as I took off from a light. It was   I set off car alarms all over the parking lots, just driving down the street next to them.
I checked the area where the exhaust was pooring out after I drove it around for about 5 mins, and it was really warm, so I decided that was enough. The exhaust was pooring out on to the bottom lining of the seat area.
I have also heard this can cause burnt valves and seals, but I don't think it's a problem with cat's still on... if it were straight headers, it would probably be another story.. .and if I left it like that for a while and took it to the strip as well.

Re: Is this dangerous??? (Glock'94)
The law (regarding manufacturers) states the exhaust must exit the bottom of the car. This is for a reason. That reason is carbon monoxide poisoning. It's not guaranteed you will be sucking fumes but it's risky. The risk is at low speeds and stopping at lights (around town) where the air flow won't carry away the exhaust gases. Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. The symptoms are you take a nap. You don't want to take a nap in your Corvette while driving. YMMV
