Which do you prefer?

MiniRam or SuperRam?

The Miniram is a little more with having to buy the fuel rails but it seems to be a better performance gain in the long run. Cheers, Jeers?

mini ram 895 + fuel rails 325 = 1250
super ram 779.98 + big mouth base 425= 1204.95
there is about $45 difference
i got a super ram and i like it i have no problem buring my tacks 6g's
i got an auto, super rams are better for auto's and mini rams are better for manuals
the mini ram will pull more up high like 6500+ better then the super ram

any way i am happy with my super ram
i didnt find it as much of a pita as much as some has to install

Your profile says you have a stock L98.

The miniram is designed to make high RPM power, and I don't think the stock L98 is capable of revving that high. If you installed it without other major mods (heads & cam at least), I think you would lose your low end torque and run out of RPM before the miniram would give you it's potential.

The superram is better for a stock motor, though I hear it is a real PITA to install.

I myself am chasing down vacuum leaks on my TPIS big mouth intake and big tube runners. Even the slightly larger runners make working on it less than fun. I couldn't imagine the fun a Superram would present.

I am in the process of blueprinting a 383 and I thought I could go ahead and do the intake and exhaust b/c the parts can be used with the new motor. The only thing that is going to be used from the old motor is the block with splayed mains.

The Miniram makes you get better fuel rails so that in itself seems to be a needed mod for a new motor. JeffyC I thought on the TPiS site the fuel rail system was $4something... let me know where you found it for that price.

If I had a choice it would be Miniram no matter what trans. Thats a badass piece, worth a little extra dough, ease of service in itself makes it worth it.

Street driving or track driving?

You'll get much more bang for the buck with the SR if you don't race the car.

As for the L98 not revving high, that is because of the stock intake. It will rev plenty high with the MR, enough to need a rev limiter.

Supposedly QC on the superram has been questionable, so there may be some bad units floating around. Same applies to the edelbrock high flow base, newer ones with **** poor QC, bad castings, so buyer beware.

Are there any comparisons with the LT1 ported or not vs miniram intake? I suppose the LT1 would require some LT1 rails and be 25% of the price before factoring in custom work.

, I will be using the motor for street and occasional strip. 25% percent of the MR price definitley gets my attention... anyone have any info on LT1 intake vs MR?
