is there any thing out there that you can replace the opti with or are we stuck with that POS?

Do a search. There is Dynaspark, DelTeq, MSD, or just upgrade to the newer version. I am in the minority, but I don't think that they are as big a POS as most people claim.

The only way to get rid of it totally would be to drill the intake and install a normal style distributor. The Dynaspark and the MSD are both upgraded versions of the stock opti while the Delteq and LTCC both use the signal from the opti.
