With the exhaust side of the turbo being that close to your suspension bushings, is there any chance for it to get the bushings too hot and maybe melt? I am not sure the temps bushings can withstand. Might be a dumb question.

at idle the turbo will not be generating as much heat as it will during wot, and while undr power there is enough airflow between many of the close parts to cool them off and to keep a barrier formed from heat soaking.. the picture show the turbo much closer to the bushings then it really is and I do not foresee any problems.. the turbo housing with be coated shortly after everything is completed for appearance and to help reduce under hood temps.

thanks pop..

comp, no I do not like header wrap... i am not comfortable with the idea of it soaking some oil and igniting while under boost... just a little un nerving to me. but I am considering having the hot parts coated in the Jet Hot 2000* stuff and a blanket/ shield for the exhaust housing.

Not too long ago I someone on here described how their engine caught fire because of that wrapping. My turbo pipes are all Jet Hot coated. Good plan!

I believed that was me. Now all my hot pipes and turbine housing are coated by Swain Tech. On top of that I wraped it again this time. And insulated with flashing alumimun. So that nothing in there can cause on fire. I did this to keep minimun heat loss for a rear mount setup.
