I bought this from a friend that was dying, agent orange, bummer. I ran out of gas, and it has yet to run since.
Changed plugs, ignition module, checked coil with ohmeter, seems OK. It started with a new module, ran for 30-45 seconds, and died, checked for spark, no spark, again!
Checked all the fuses, all good, the 4-5 metal fuses on the far right of the fuse box I have NO idea what they do. I checked for fuel, it appears to be getting fuel, and with pressure. The car really looks good, but if they took $500 from the value for each spliced wire, the guy would owe me money.
It used to run, and well, but now it does not. Where do you think I sould start? Sorry guys
Take ignition module to auto parts store and have it checked. Fact it ran for short time then quit means possibly it was defective module.
Can't figure out why running out of gas would have caused bad module, but what the heck.
when you changed the ignition module did you put dialectric grease or some other type under the module before you installed it? OOPS it would take a littler longer than 30-45 seconds-sorry,did you check the pickup coil-and per test wiggle the wires while testing?

It was running great, then cut out, started again, then quit, I figured the gas gauge was off because before that it started and ran really good. I will pull the ignition module and get it checked. I guess the coils don't usually go bad on the HEI's. Anything else that can fail?

Thanks for the reply. I put the grease on. I will test the module, and the pick up.
Thanks to all you for your help. I have my Ohmmeter and beer ready. I can score me a pressure guage fitting for my pressure guage and wiil asess to see if the fuel is the problem. I have fuel and it squirts from that fuel channel nipple, but I pulled a plug and checked for spark, no seeenking spark. Will check all that shy-zaa. Thanks again.

Screw the Corvette. I can't believe that it took this many years to die from Agent Orange. I salute him for his sacrifice to our Country. In his honor, do everything you can to restore his pride and joy.
Look through my webspace and read, then diagnose where your problems are. Fuel delivery is a good place to start. Good Luck http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/
If your not getting spark but the ignition module, distributer, and coil are all okay then I say its gotta be the plug wires or the plugs themselves. I'd replace both if that is the case.
